The Hawaiian Cates Moth

The building jig with station molds, stringers, sides & transom attached.

The hull turned right side up. Note the plastic electronic ties used to "stitch" the hull panels together while the epoxy "glue" kicks off.

The hull with the deck installed. Note that one of the station molds forms a water tight forward bulkhead. The next two aft molds have been cut down and will become braces for the center board trunk.

The finished hull after sheathing with fiberglass.

A close up of the converted windsurfer mast; 3/4 inch PVC pipe (opened on one side by running the pipe over a table saw) has been attached to the mast with thickened epoxy to act as inexpensive luft groove track for the bolt roped sail. Joe Bousquet is using a similar spar and is trying a section of windsurfer mast with a plastic groove glued on for a boom.
