ORGANIZING AUTHORITY:
The NC Governors Cup Classic Moth Boat Championship is organized by Pasquotank River Yacht Club.

LOCATION & DATE:
The Championship will take place on May 17, 2008 at John and Sara Pugh’s Back yard, Home of the NATS. Elizabeth City NC

RULES:
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the 2005–2008 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and CMBA rules.

ELIGIBILITY:
The NC Governors Cup Championship regatta is open to members of CMBA. Skipper must be a member of CMBA. Boats must conform to CMBA rules and measurements. Vintage, Generation 1, and 2 will be sailed.

ENTRY FEE:
The fee is $15.

REGISTRATION:
Registration will be held on May 17, at 0830.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Saturday, May 17, 2008
0830 Registration
0900 Skipper’s Meeting
1000 First warning, followed immediately by back-to-back races.
The last race will not start after 1500
Lunch break will be weather dependant or upon request of contestants at skippers meeting. BYOL

NUMBER OF RACES:
Weather Dependant. Throwout after 5 races. The Race Committee may adjust the racing schedule to suit weather conditions.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:
The Sailing Instructions will be available during registration.

SCORING:
(a) Abbreviations for scoring shall be in accordance with RRS (2005-8) Appendix A 11.
(b) Each boat finishing in a race and not thereafter retiring or being disqualified will be scored points equal to her finishing place, as follows: first boat scores 1 point, second boat scores 2 points, and so on. "DNC", "DNS", "DNF", and "RAF" score points equal to one more, and "OCS", "DNE", "BFD,", and "DSQ" score points equal to two more than the greatest number of boats eligible to start in any race of the series. "RDG" scores points equal to the finishing position awarded her after a hearing for request for redress.
(c) Each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores; except that after five races each yacht may discard her worst score. The boat with the lowest total scores wins. One race is required to constitute the regatta.

TIES:
Ties will be broken in accordance with RRS A8.
